What is it we hear you cry? Being a parent is the most wonderful thing in the world but sometimes there are jobs that need doing which, well you wish you didn’t have to do! When a little one gets a cold a blocked up nose is a big deal and anything you can do to help clear the airways is a big thing. That’s where the Nosefrida comes into play.
Children between birth and 3 years cannot blow their noses. This often causes misery for both the baby and the parents. The easiest way to use the NoseFrida is to have your baby in a comfortable position where your hands are free – this could either be on their changing mat, on baby’s back on a table, or with your partner or a friend holding the baby.
You then place the red mouthpiece in your own mouth, with the large tube being put at the front of the baby’s nostril. Apply a little gentle suction and increase this until you see mucus appearing in the large tube. None of the mucous will be sucked into your own mouth as the blue filter will prevent this. If the mucous is not runny, then initially apply a little water or saline solution and after a few moments apply the suction.
The Nosefrida gets your baby breathing, sleeping and eating again. It has been developed by ENT specialists in Sweden, and is safe, effective and hygienic.
